mint & lime iced tea

mint & lime iced tea

Mint & lime iced tea tea is an easy drink perfect for hot summer days.

Refreshing flavor released from mint mixed with sour lime taste makes the drink one of a kind. If you have enough space in the fridge double or triple the recipe to have an amazing drink at hand at all times.

In the evening you can add a shot of your favorite alcohol and make a refreshing cocktail (only if you reached drinking age though!).
Make sure you don’t forget to add in some lime slices, fresh mint leaves and ice cubes!

If you are into refreshing drinks I recommend trying Chia Calcium Drink .

Makes: 1 L (1 000 ml)               Time: 10 min (+ a few h for cooling)

Ingredients:

Iced tea:
3 tsp mint tea
250 ml (1 cup) water for boiling
750 ml (3 cups) cold water
4-8 Tbsp (60-120 ml) lime juice (from 1-2 limes)

Toppings:
8 medium sized fresh mint leaves
4 lime slices
8 ice cubes

Instructions:

1. Place the mint tea leaves in the cup. Boil the water and pour it into the cup. Cover the cup and let the tea brew for 3-5 minutes.

2. Strain the tea into a big jug (a bit over 1L) or two smaller ones (a bit over 500 ml each) and add in the cold water and lime juice. Mix well and let it cool down completely.

3. Add in the fresh mint leaves and lime slices and place the drink in the fridge.

4. When ready to serve add in the ice-cubes and serve while it's still cold and refreshing!

Notes and tips:

1. If the lime slices are with a skin and they are left in a drink for two long (over 24 h) they will make the drink a bit bitter. To avoid that make sure you peel the lime slices before adding them in.
2. Feel free to add any sweetener of your choice (like maple or date syrup) if you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.
